About the Institution
Africa Crossroads is an independent research institution focused on systems-level analysis of governance, economic architecture, and institutional development across the continent.
We produce systems-focused, analytically rigorous research on African governance, economic systems, and institutional capacity. Our work is rooted in the belief that durable development depends on understanding the structural incentives that shape political and economic outcomes.
Rather than advocacy or commentary, we provide analysis that helps policymakers, investors, and civil society understand the underlying mechanics of African political economies. Our regional focus spans East Africa, the Great Lakes, West Africa, and the Sahel.
Closed-door convenings bringing together policymakers, analysts, and practitioners to examine institutional reform and governance challenges.
Long-form conversations and analytical briefs on economic systems, policy architecture, and institutional development across Africa.
Macroeconomic tracking, sector analysis, and comparative metrics across the continent's largest economies.
Policy-oriented analysis on governance reform, regional integration, economic planning, and institutional capacity building.
We prioritize evidence over advocacy. Our analysis reflects the complexity of the systems we study, not simplified narratives.
Our work spans the continent, with particular depth in East Africa, the Great Lakes, West Africa, and the Sahel.
We examine the rules, incentives, and organizational structures that shape economic and political outcomes, not just individual leaders or events.
